Abuja, Nigeria. The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has raised an alarm over the number of Nigerians currently sentenced to death in Indonesia. According to the Commission’s Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, most of the Nigerian convicts involved come from a particular state in the South-East region.

Dabiri-Erewa disclosed that 20 out of 21 Nigerians on death row in Indonesia trace their origin to just one South-East state, while the remaining one is from another region. She cautioned Nigerians against linking the disturbing statistics to ethnicity or the reputation of a region.
